Transition from cities in Southeast Asia to a remote village in Abruzzo can create dislocation and estrangement in the passenger-type of the twenty-first century. But it can also be used to suggest guidelines for an alternative method of working, to arrive, for example, a new treaty of geography, the identification of unusual and unexpected similarities, highlighting the tensions and frictions, which may emerge only by comparing the polar opposite of reality. This is the intention of the stage with Carboni Alessandro Abruzzese of his vast project discerns Overlapping Boundaries, conducted in early 2010, with residences and sponsorship European and Asian. The multidisciplinary artist reside in the small town of Guildford (Ch) from 26 July to 15 August 2010, a research and be reflected here in several stages, including: actions in urban places and rural
, a direct meeting with the audience for the presentation labor, and two facilities in separate locations. Of Guildford and the surrounding area, the artist will trace its geography sentimental, almost Goethean and a review romantic psychogeography of Guy Debord, in a technological age. While the conditions will be those applicants practices in the Carboni - walk, observation, and installation of materials extracted from their territory, videos, photos, notes and other documentary material - the specific will of course be imponderable and dictated by the conditions and the responsiveness of the site. Carboni, in fact, interact directly with the people and ask them "gifts", so by investigating the practice of xenia, lost in big cities, but still present in small businesses.
The hospitality, the stranger, migration and depopulation of small communities, the re-positioning, forced or voluntary portions of the entire population due to natural or social (from earthquakes to drastic crisis in the world of work) and related issues that are, to varying degrees, affect some areas of Asia affected by the work of Carboni, and some Italian. The area of \u200b\u200bMiddle and High Vasto, where does Guildford is certainly one of them.
